Carillion CEO takes on safety role at Wood Group

Aberdeen-based energy services giant Wood Group said Richard Howson, chief executive of construction company Carillion, will join Wood Group as a non-executive director on May 12, 2016.

Howson will join the Wood board’s Nomination and Safety, Assurance & Business Ethics Committees.

Howson has been chief executive of Carillion since January 1, 2012.

He served as chief operating officer of Carillion from September 2010 to December 2011 having been appointed to the board in December 2009 as executive director with responsibility for the Middle EastNorth Africa and UK construction businesses and for the group’s health & safety and sustainability programmes..

Howson is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
