Edinburgh-based investment giant Abrdn plc announced the appointment of Siobhan Boylan of Coutts & Co as chief financial officer and executive director of the company, subject to regulatory approval.
Abrn said Ian Jenkins will continue in the role of interim group CFO until Boylan joins the company. Jenkins will take up a new role as CFO of Abrdn’s investments business.
Abrdn CEO Jason Windsor said: “Siobhan was the outstanding candidate, with her impressive skillset and experience that is highly relevant, and complementary to the rest of the leadership team.
“I know she will make an immediate and significant impact.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Ian Jenkins for his commitment during the interim period, and I am delighted he will step into a new role as CFO of our investments business when Siobhan joins the company.”
Boylan is expected to join Abrdn during the summer.
Abrdn said on January 21 its assets under management and administration (AUMA) rose 3% in 2024 to £511 billion, with a 1% increase in Q4 “reflecting positive markets and a net inflow in Investments and interactive investor.” Abrdn said its interactive investor business delivered continued strong growth.
“Siobhan is an accomplished CFO who brings over thirty years’ experience and significant knowledge from across the financial services sector,” said Abrdn.
“She is currently CFO of Coutts & Co, the private banking arm of the NatWest Group, and an independent non-executive at Jupiter Fund Management plc.
“Prior to Coutts & Co, Siobhan was CFO of Brewin Dolphin (a constituent of the FTSE 250 until its acquisition in 2022), CFO of the asset management subsidiary of Legal & General, LGIM, and held various senior finance roles at Aviva plc.”

Boylan’s salary has been set at £495,000 per annum. “All other elements of remuneration are in line with the shareholder-approved Directors’ Remuneration Policy,” said Abrdn.
