Perth-base transport giant Stagecoach Group said digital entrepreneur James Bilefield will join the company as a non-executive director from February 1.
“James has an international track record of successfully leading growing digital businesses,” said Stagecoach.
“He managed the digital transformation of media group Condé Nast across 27 countries, scaled Skype’s global operations as part of its founding management team and held senior commercial and management roles at Yahoo.”
Bilefield is a former chief executive of advertising technology company OpenX, and he also co-founded local information business UpMyStreet following an investment banking career at JP Morgan Chase.
Bilefield now holds a portfolio of non-executive and advisory roles, serving as chairman of event ticketing business ticketscript, and acts as an advisor to McKinsey & Company, Advent International and the UK Government Digital Service.
“Technology is rapidly transforming mobility, offering significant opportunities to deliver better and more personalised solutions for our customers,” said Brian Souter, Stagecoach Group chairman.
“Digital developments also provide powerful new tools for our employees and management teams in the running of our businesses.
“James’ extensive digital expertise and international commercial experience will further strengthen the board.”
