Professor John Finch has been confirmed as Head of the Adam Smith Business School at the University of Glasgow following a period as interim Head of School.
Finch joined the Adam Smith Business School in October 2012 as Marketing Professor.
“Keen to position our research and researchers for larger, multi-disciplinary projects and to continue to enhance the student experience … John will continue to ensure that the Adam Smith Business School celebrates the legacy of Adam Smith,” said the university.
“John will prioritise developing the School’s ‘go to’ credentials for research, knowledge exchange and broadly construed corporate connections whilst further developing our internationalization … and entering into a small number of major strategic partnerships.”
Finch said: “I look forward to working closely with my colleagues to build upon our reputation for world-leading research that contributes to debate in research and policy worldwide and building on our academic excellence to enhance the student experience.”
Finch began his academic career as a lecturer in economics at the University of Aberdeen, having completed his PhD at Lancaster University Management School, before joining the University of Strathclyde as a marketing professor and latterly as Vice Dean (Knowledge Exchange) for Strathclyde Business School.
Finch’s research interests include business-to-business marketing, product and service development, market studies, and regulation for sustainability.
