Edinburgh-based digital service business xDesign said on Monday it acquired Scottish mobile and web agency Bemo.
“xDesign will acquire the assets, people, and customer contracts of Bemo and the business will eventually operate under the xDesign brand,” said xDesign.
“The expanded business will grow xDesign’s headcount to over 60 and xDesign will continue to serve Bemo’s clients from their Edinburgh office with transfer of operations and staff occurring on the 3rd of February 2020.”
xDesign said Bemo CEO Matt Farrugia will be “part of the combined business during a transitionary period.”
xDesign CEO Euan Andrews said in a statement: “xDesign is in a period of exceptional growth and the combined group will see a three fold increase in 2020 to deliver revenues of £6m+, exceeding our targets for the year, as we look to deliver our three-year plan to a deliver a team of over 100 highly skilled digital specialists and over £10m in revenue based right here in Scotland.”
xDesign consults on, designs and engineers digital products for web and mobile for clients including Heineken, PayPal, Menzies Aviation, Abellio, Edinburgh Airport, Rothschild and MoneySuperMarket.
“xDesign’s acquisition of Bemo allows two decade-old businesses to combine their experience and serve our combined clients better,” said xDesign MD Ben Hutton.
“Our business is in a period of rapid growth and we need people of the utmost skill and quality so the opportunity to acquire a business full of people who share the same drive as we do was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.”
Bemo provides mobile and web products for clients including PwC, Tesco Bank, Sainsbury’s Bank, STV, RBS and the BBC.
