Glasgow-based Smart Metering Systems plc (SMS) announced that Gavin Urwin will step down as chief financial officer (CFO) and as an executive director of SMS on December 1, 2022, to take up another opportunity.
SMS said Gail Blain will be appointed as CFO and as an executive director from the same date.
“Gail, currently the group’s financial controller and who has been with the group since 2016, is a Chartered Accountant and has an in-depth understanding of the business having been actively involved in all areas of finance, including accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax and delivering corporate finance strategy support to the leadership team,” said SMS.
“Prior to joining the group, she worked at Aggreko plc and BAA Limited Group.
“Gavin will remain available to the group until 31 March 2023 and support a handover period with Gail.”
SMS CEO Tim Mortlock said: “SMS has undergone significant transformation over the last few years, evolving from a predominately metering business to a fully integrated energy infrastructure company.
