Law firm Burges Salmon has appointed Jennifer Mellor as a new Edinburgh-based director in its Funds and Financial Regulation team.
“Jennifer joins Burges Salmon from Brodies, where she was a senior associate in its Funds and Investment Management team,” said Burges Salmon.
“Jennifer has a broad range of experience across the financial services sector, regularly advising asset managers, investment funds, investment platforms, pension schemes and family offices.
“Jennifer has considerable experience advising on investment funds issues, including the establishment of private investment funds and investment into funds across different asset classes, along with wider regulatory matters such as AIFMD, MiFID and SMCR.
“Jennifer has also worked in-house with Alliance Trust Savings and Royal London.”
Mellor said: “As Burges Salmon’s presence in the Scottish market continues to increase, I’m excited to join the team in Edinburgh at such an exciting time as part of its ambitious strategy for growth.
“I’m very much looking forward to getting to know the Financial Services sector practice across the firm and working closely with colleagues in the team on continuing to deliver an excellent service to the firm’s impressive roster of clients.”
Burges Salmon Head of Financial Services Richard Leeming said: “I’m pleased to be able to announce Jennifer’s arrival in Edinburgh.
“She is a highly experienced financial services lawyer with a particular focus on private funds work and she will make a fantastic addition to the team.”
