Output in the Scotland’s services sector, which accounts for around three quarters of the economy, is estimated to have grown by 0.3% in June.
However, this was offset by a reduction of 1.8% in the production sector over the month, driven by a fall in electricity and gas supply.
Scotland’s onshore GDP remained flat (0.0% change) in June, according to the latest statistics from Scotland’s chief statistician.
In the three months to June, Scotland’s GDP is estimated to have fallen by 0.3% compared to the previous three month period, following growth of 0.2% in Q1.
“In June, output in the services sector, which accounts for around three quarters of the economy, is estimated to have grown by 0.3%, with the largest contributor being growth in administrative and support services,” said the Scottish Government.
“Production sector output fell by 1.8% in June, driven by a fall in electricity and gas supply.”
