Kiloh, Scots engineering firm, bought by LaBella of NY

Stuart Burke

Rochester, New York-based LaBella Associates, an international architecture, engineering, environmental and planning firm, announced it has acquired Kiloh Associates, a Scottish engineering firm specializing in civil, structural, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines.

Kiloh is based in Glasgow, with five offices and many commercial and energy clients throughout the United Kingdom.

LaBella said the addition of Kiloh expands LaBella’s European presence beyond Spain, where it currently has its architectural and electro-mechanical specialist services.

“This year we are marking ten years since LaBella established our first international office in Spain, which has been an unqualified success,” said LaBella CEO Steve Metzger.

“We have the infrastructure in place to connect our employees wherever they are, and our clients benefit from access to global talent.”

Kiloh’s owner Stuart Burke said: “We work with many large clients who have more needs than Kiloh can fill alone.

“With the scale LaBella brings, we can grow together and offer additional solutions.”

Burke will remain the leader of LaBella’s operations in the United Kingdom.

Established in 1975 and incorporated in 1993 as consulting engineers, Kiloh provides engineering design services for a wide range of projects for the petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry, the food and dairy industry, power and energy, manufacturing and construction industries, the leisure industry, commercial and residential developments, and public authority projects both in the field of regeneration and new build.
