Aidan O’Carroll has been reappointed as chair of the Revenue Scotland board by Ivan McKee MSP, Minister for Public Finance.
O’Carroll has been Revenue Scotland chair since August 2021.
He is a former senior partner at EY, which he left in July 2020 after 35 years. Formerly Head of Tax for EY in the UK, as well as a Global Tax leader, O’Carroll has advised many local and global companies across a wide spectrum of tax and business issues around the world.
He has considerable experience in dealing with regulatory matters and is a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) as well as being a Chartered Director (IoD).
O’Carroll holds a number of non-executive director roles in organisations based in the UK.
O’Carroll said: “It is a real privilege to be reappointed as chair of Revenue Scotland, this is a great team to be a part of and I am really looking forward to helping its positive progress as a high performing organisation that delivers for Scotland.
“We can be proud of what has been achieved in the first 10 years of our existence and the quality of all that work here. There is still much to do, and I know the whole board and the team here are feeling excited about the future opportunities where Revenue Scotland can be a positive leader and contributor.”
This reappointment will be for three years from August 1, 2024.
The appointment attracts a daily remuneration of £413.92 for a time commitment of up to 48 days per annum.
