Aberdeen-based consulting and engineering group Wood plc has opened its third office in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Located in Sharjah, the new 18,625 square foot office will act as an engineering hub to deliver various engineering contracts, supporting operations across the UAE and Iraq.
“Around 200 personnel will occupy the purpose-built facility, which has been designed to foster innovation and collaboration, and accommodate our expanding portfolio and growing footprint in the Middle East …” said Wood.
“Connected to the world-class Sahara Mall and fitted with modern, state-of-the-art facilities, Wood’s Sharjah office offers attractive benefits including exceptional transport links and a shorter commute for the majority of its employees.
“Employees based in Sharjah deliver complex operational support for a range of clients across Iraq and the UAE, including maintenance management services, front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, procurement support, and construction and commissioning.”
Shaun Dewar, Senior Vice President of Operations, MEAC at Wood, said: “As Wood continues to achieve substantial growth across the Middle East, we’re delighted to announce the opening of our Sharjah office.
“As Wood’s third office in the UAE, Sharjah underlines our commitment to investing in local talent and accelerating transformational projects in the Middle East.
“Our Sharjah office will enhance both regional and global delivery and further position us for growth, now and in the future.”
