Irn Bru firm Barr hires Lloyds AI head as director

A.G. Barr, the Cumbernauld-based owner of Irn-Bru, Rubicon energy drinks, Boost Drinks and Funkin cocktail mixers, announced that AI expert Rohit Dhawan has been appointed as a non-executive director of Barr and will join the board on July 29, 2025.

Dhawan is currently group head of AI at Lloyds Banking Group plc, owner of Bank of Scotland and Scottish Widows. 

He will join Barr’s Audit and Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee.

Rohit brings over 25 years of experience to the board, having had an exceptional career focused on transforming businesses through data, AI, and digital innovation, and brings deep expertise from across consumer industries,” said Barr.

“He is currently Group Head of AI at Lloyds Banking Group plc, having previously held senior roles across globally-renowned organisations such as Amazon, Accenture, SAS, Deloitte, and IBM.  

“Rohit will be a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee.”
