Springfield Properties hires banker Gardner as director

Elgin-based house builder Springfield Properties plc announced the appointment of Alasdair Gardner as a non-executive director of the group, which will take effect from the conclusion of the AGM on October 29. 

Gardner, 59, is a senior executive whose career encompasses over 35 years in banking and finance within Lloyds Banking Group.

His leadership roles included Head of Industrials and Commercial Banking Scotland and Head of Large Corporates North America before becoming Managing Director of The Islands Business, Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets in 2020, a position that he held until his retirement in December 2023.

“During his career, he had responsibility for a number of sectors including Renewable Energy, Oil and Gas and Housebuilding,” said Springfield.

“Alasdair is currently a member of the Advisory Board of Kelvin Capital, a venture capital business focused on UK-based growth companies. 

“Other roles include helping to establish the Bank of Scotland Foundation in 2009, where he was a trustee until 2016, and having served as a trustee of Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands and of Crossroads Caring Scotland.

Alasdair is a Fellow of The Chartered Banker Institute and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Edinburgh.”
