Wood Group announces another leadership change

Wood Group HQ, Aberdeen

John Wood Group, the troubled Aberdeen-based global engineering and consulting giant, said Azad Hessamodini, its Executive President of Consulting, “has decided to leave Wood to pursue other opportunities.”

Dubai-based Sidara finally announced on August 29 a proposed deal to take over John Wood Group in a proposed acquisition that is subject to a large number of conditions it said are “highly unusual” under the UK’s Takeover Code.

Wood said: “Dan Carter has been appointed to lead Wood’s Consulting business, effective immediately.

“A long-serving leader within Wood, with over 20 years of experience in consultancy and project delivery, Dan brings deep expertise and strong client relationships to the role.”

Wood CEO Ken Gilmartin said: “Dan is a highly respected and experienced leader within Wood. His deep understanding of our business and strong connection with our people and clients make him ideally placed to lead Consulting into its next chapter of growth and success.

“I would like to thank Azad for his tenure and contributions to Wood and wish him all the best for the future.”

Carter will report to Nick Shorten, Executive President of Projects & Consulting.

The group said consulting will continue to operate as one of Wood’s three business units and report its financial performance accordingly.
