Weir Group, the Glasgow-based global mining and engineering FTSE 100 firm, has announced changes to its board.
Weir said Ravi Gopinath will be appointed to its board as an independent non-executive director from the conclusion of the AGM on April 30, 2026.
Gopinath will join the Audit, and Safety, Sustainability and Technology committees upon appointment.
“Ravi has held several senior leadership roles in industrial software and technology businesses,” said Weir.
“Most recently, he was Chief Product and Strategy Officer at AVEVA, the UK‑listed industrial software company, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer.
“Ravi was also Executive Vice President of Software at Schneider Electric. Earlier in his career, Ravi held senior executive positions at Invensys, including President of the Software Business, and was previously Chief Executive Officer of Geometric Limited.
“Ravi has also held a number of non‑executive director roles, including at the former FTSE 100 company Spectris plc. He is currently a non‑executive director of Thermax Limited and Neuland Laboratories, both of which are listed in India.”
Weir also announced that Tracey Kerr will become a member of the Nomination Committee and Andy Agg will step down from the Nomination Committee, with effect from April 30, 2026.

Gopinath is a non‑executive director of Thermax Limited and Neuland Laboratories.
