AGS Airports — which operates Glasgow, Aberdeen and Southampton airports — said it appointed professional services firm WSP and international architectural practice Pascall + Watson as its design partners for the next stage of its £350 million “AGS Reimagined” transformation programme.
AGS said the programme will:
- modernise the main terminal at Glasgow Airport
- upgrade Southampton’s terminal facilities
- transform retail at Aberdeen Airport
- improve airfield infrastructure at all three airports
- accelerate AGS’ ambition to achieve net zero direct emissions by 2035.
“This marks a significant step forward in delivering AGS Reimagined, the airports long‑term project and vision to create modern, sustainable and passenger‑centred airports across Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton,” said AGS.
“Following a competitive procurement process, WSP has been selected as the lead development designer for Southampton Airport, while WSP together with Pascall + Watson Architects will lead design for the transformation of Glasgow Airport.
“The design phase will shape the future layout, flow and passenger experience at both airports, ensuring they meet the growing needs of customers, airline partners and their regions.
“For Southampton, WSP will provide full architectural and engineering design services across all key elements, including structural, fire safety and ventilation.
“For Glasgow, WSP and Pascall + Watson Architects will jointly lead the terminal design transformation, a central investment priority within the group’s £350 million capital programme.”

Germany-based AviAlliance completed the acquisition of AGS Airports from Ferrovial and Macquarie in January 2025 for an enterprise value of £1.53 billion.
AviAlliance is a wholly owned subsidiary of Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments), one of Canada’s largest pension investors with $264.9 billion of net assets under management.
PSP Investments is a long-standing investor in UK infrastructure and holds a majority stake in Forth Ports.
In March 2025, New York-based Blackstone announced that its infrastructure strategy for individual investors agreed to acquire a minority stake of 22% in AGS Airports from AviAlliance for £235 million.
