Celtic plc announced the resignation of Ian Livingston as a director of the company with effect from June 30, 2017.

Celtic said Livingston, who was appointed in October 2007 and chairs the audit committee, is stepping down to “focus on his other board commitments, having recently taking over as chairman of Dixons Carphone plc in addition to Man Group plc.”

Sharon Brown, who joined the Celtic board in December 2016, will become chair of the audit committee.

Brown is a non-executive director of McColls Retail Group, a non-executive director of Fidelity Special Values Plc and a non-executive director at F&C Capital and Income Investment Trust plc.

Between 1998 and 2013, Brown was finance director and company secretary of Dobbies Garden Centres Ltd and between 1991 and 1998 she held a senior financial position within the retail division of John Menzies plc.

Livingston said: “Having stood in the Jungle as a boy, it was a great honour to be a director of Celtic.

“With the club in a strong position, I look forward to Celtic’s continued success in the future.”

Celtic charman Ian Bankier said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Ian for his insight, experience and commitment to the club.

“Ian is a highly-respected figure in business and public life and Celtic has been fortunate to benefit from his contribution during his time as a director.”
