Abrdn in major hires to grow £50bn real estate unit

Edinburgh-based investment giant Abrdn has made three major appointments to its real assets team to support its ambitious growth agenda.

Abrdn oversees £532 billion of assets including £50 billion of “real” assets.

Tom Stenhouse has joined as Head of Real Estate Strategic Capital from Patrizia.

Stenhouse is based in London and will focus on “developing bespoke mandates” for key institutional clients.

He will also take on management of existing segregated mandates for some existing larger Asian clients.

Satyan Sanghrajka joins as Head of APAC Real Estate Business Strategy & Investment Specialists.

Sanghrajka will be be based in Singapore and joins from UBS with a dual remit to deliver growth in Abrdn’s Asia Pacific real estate business, along with accelerating the flow of Asia Pacific capital into Abrdn’s UK & European capabilities.

Andrea Goss has also joined the Investment Specialist team from Eastdil Secured.

Goss is an Investment Director and will be working with the firm’s global client base across a broad range of strategies, both existing and new.

“We continue to expand our capabilitiesas evidenced by our stake in Tritax, leading to an increased opportunity set across the UK & European logistics space for our clients.

“Additionally, through our leading European residential platform, we see continued demand for residential exposure whilst, more broadly, we are working with clients on low carbon office transition and Natural Capital strategies, using our extensive expertise in the office and  sustainability space.”

Abrdn acquired 60% of Tritax Management LLP last December to strengthen the combined offering of both firms in the growing logistics real estate market.
