RBC Wealth Management, a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada, announced that it will acquire UK wealth manager Brewin Dolphin for £1.6 billion in cash.
RBC will pay £5.15 per share, a premium of 62% to the Brewin Dolphin closing share price of £3.18 on March 30, 2022.
The deal is subject to approval from Brewin Dolphin shareholders and regulators.
Brewin Dolphin has a network of more than 30 offices and assets under management of £59 billion as at December 31, 2021.
