BrewDog announces major executive changes

James Taylor

BrewDog, the Ellon, Aberdeenshire-based craft brewing giant announced that its chief financial officer (CFO) James Taylor is stepping up to CEO and Lauren Carrol becomes chief operating officer (COO) moving up from her current chief marketing officer (CMO) position.

Both changes are effective immediately, as CEO James Arrow steps down for personal reasons.

“A huge thank you to James Arrow for his impactful leadership since 2023 – first as COO, then CEO, not least driving our US restructuring, operational strength, and a landmark MCC partnership at Lord’s,” said BrewDog.

“We wish him every success and he will always be welcome back to Ellon.

“James Taylor brings proven financial and strategic expertise, having returned BrewDog to profitability, while Lauren Carrol, with her deep craft beer knowledge and success as CMO, has been central to the success of the likes of Wingman and Black Heart.

“Together, they’re set to lead us toward profitability, global growth, and innovation.”

Lauren Carrol

BrewDog chairman Allan Leighton said: “James and Lauren are the perfect team to steer BrewDog into its next phase.”
