Euan Munro confirmed on Tuesday he has left his role as chief executive of Newton Investment Management, part of BNY Mellon Investment Management, after almost four years in the top job.
Munro, who joined as Newton CEO in June 2021 after working as CEO of Aviva Investors, has departed along with co-chief investment officer Mitesh Sheth.
Before Aviva Investors, Munro was head of global multi-asset and fixed interest investing at Standard Life Investments.” Munro also worked at Scottish Provident.
In a social media post, Munro said: “Now that the news has broken I just want to say to all of my former team at Newton Investment Management and to the global client base, it has been an priviledge to lead this storied firm.
“I wish you all the very best. I am leaving behind some of the best investors I have ever had the priviledge to work with, they will continue to be great without me.
“Nothing ever stays the same and often that is a good thing, as for me I’m enjoying a bit of time and space to think about what I should do next.”
Newton Investment Management has £84 billion of assets currently under management. BNY Mellon oversees $47.8 trillion in assets under custody and/or administration and has $2 trillion of assets under management.
