Sustainable packaging firm Mainetti has announced the expansion of its operations in the United Kingdom with the opening of a new head office at Tweedside Park at Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders.
Mainetti serves leading retailers and fashion brands in 90 locations across 47 countries and six continents. The company’s customer portfolio includes renowned names such as H&M, Zara, JC Penney, Next, M&S, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Dior, Chanel, and Burberry.
A recent collaboration with Primark led to the introduction of a new range of recyclable and reusable garment hangers, improving garment presentation while supporting responsible resource use.
“This move reinforces the company’s commitment to strengthening its footprint in the region and its dedication to delivering innovative packaging solutions for the retail industry, as part of its broader UK growth strategy,” said Mainetti.
“Serving as a hub for Mainetti’s senior commercial and product development team, the modern office space plays a key role in driving the company’s ongoing evolution and regional development.
“Designed to foster collaboration and creativity, while supporting strategic initiatives and enhancing operational efficiency, the office reinforces Mainetti’s commitment to serving customers within the UK.”
Mainetti CEO Roberto Peruzzo said: “We are thrilled to open our new UK head office at Tweedside Park. Michael Vee Design created this modern, collaborative workspace which reflects our ongoing support of the Scottish Borders alongside our dedication to innovation and sustainability in the packaging industry.
“We extend our sincere thanks to the Scottish Borders Council for their vision in providing high-quality office facilities that support business development. With excellent transport links and a dynamic environment, this new location will enable us to enhance our operations and continue delivering packaging solutions to our customers.”
This announcement follows recent milestones from Mainetti, including the expansion of the company’s operations in Bangladesh and the acquisition of Morresi Cartotecnica to boost its luxury packaging in Southern Europe.
Mainetti’s UK operations have been instrumental in the company’s success since opening its first UK site in Jedburgh in 1974.
Over the years, the business has evolved beyond garment hangers, expanding into flexible and structural packaging, branding solutions, and radio frequency identification technology. The opening of the new head office at Tweedside Park is a strategic step in advancing the company’s mission to drive both domestic and global expansion.
“This new office not only supports our ambitions for growth but also reinforces our dedication to delivering innovation and service to our customers,” said Nick Cranston, Managing Director of Commercial at Mainetti UK.
“As we embark on this next chapter, we take great pride in our heritage while maintaining a clear focus on the future. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and the continued strong progress we can achieve.”
Mainetti began supplying labels, tags, and hangers to its fashion clients in Italy in the 1960s. By the 1980s, the company expanded its offerings to include flexible packaging, paper boxes, and shopping bags.
Today, Mainetti is an end-to-end retail solution provider with 6,000 employees across 90 locations on six continents, focused on delivering innovative products and services to accelerate performance and improve customer experience.
“The company is guided by the principles of its Full Circle initiative, with a focus on utilising 100% renewable energy across its operations by 2030,” said the firm.
“Mainetti is a proud member of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, leading the industry in reuse and recycling initiatives, including its patented Hangerloop and Polyloop circular processes. Mainetti empowers its customers to create the future.”
