Lyft buys $110m TBR Global Chauffeuring of Glasgow

San Francisco-based Lyft has announced the acquisition of Glasgow-based TBR Global Chauffeuring (TBR) for $110 million in cash plus additional contingent costs.

The Glasgow firm’s founder and executive chairman is Michael O’Hare. Craig Chambers is group CEO.

TBR Global Chauffeuring is a leading provider of premium ground transportation services for corporate travel and major global events.

TBR is headquartered in Glasgow and has offices across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.

“Operating across six continents, 120 countries and over 3,000 cities, TBR has established itself as a leader in the global luxury chauffeur services industry, valued at over $54 billion,” said Lyft.

“For decades, TBR has set the standard for premium ground transportation, delivering precision, discretion and white-glove service for Fortune 500 companies, investment banks, and major global events.

“This acquisition creates a powerful combination of Lyft’s technology platform with TBR’s service excellence.

“Through a network of independent fleet partners with professional chauffeurs and deep expertise in corporate, executive, and event transportation, we’re immediately strengthening our position in the high-value premium chauffeur space.

“Just as important, what makes TBR special will not change. TBR will continue to operate under its trusted brand and established leadership team, maintaining the same high standards and world-class experience clients expect.”
