Glasgow-based international mobile power firm Aggreko announced a big change to its executive management team, with Nicolas Fournier, managing director of its Power Solutions division since November 2015, leaving the group “with immediate effect, by mutual agreement.”

Aggreko said Stephen Beynon, most recently an independent advisor to companies in the energy sector, would join its executive team as the new managing director of Power Solutions on May 15, 2017.

“Stephen has over 20 years’ experience running large service based businesses,” said Aggreko.

“He started his career with Cable & Wireless and then ran the B2B divisions of Optus in Australia and Virgin Media in the U.K., as well as the B2C business of Eircom in Ireland.

“From 2012 to 2016, he ran the B2B business, and then the residential business of British Gas. Most recently, he has been an independent advisor to companies in the energy sector.

Aggreko CEO Chris Weston said: “On behalf of the board I would like to thank Nicolas for his contribution and wish him well for the future.

“I am very pleased to welcome Stephen to Aggreko.

“His considerable experience in running large service based businesses and his deep knowledge of the energy sector will prove great assets as Aggreko pursues its programme to return the business to growth.”

On April 27, Aggreko said in a first quarter trading update that it still expected 2017 profit before tax and pre-exceptional items to be lower than 2016 following recent problems in Argentina involving the repricing of contracts in Argentina.
